FACET Program

November 2024. It’s been a very busy month for the FACET Program, and we are excited to announce the successful launch of Release 1 of Bruin Financial Aid! Additionally, financial aid staff recently completed training for Release 1, growing confident in managing students' aid within the new system.

October 2024. Our first release will be implemented next month! Also, the first round of trainings for Bruin Financial Aid were successfully completed.

September 2024. Back to School 🏫 Edition: User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Releases 1 and 2 is complete, and focus to shifts Systems Integration Testing (SIT) for Releases 3 and 4 to ensure a smooth transition to Bruin Financial Aid for students.

August 2024. An Olympic-sized edition: Financial Aid Management (FAM) mainframe retrofit wraps up, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for for Release 1 and Release 2 concludes, a preview of how ISIR information is displayed in Bruin Financial Aid, and an celerity cameo in our Coffee Break Game 🥇.

July 2024. Sizzling summer 🌞 updates: Financial Aid Management (FAM) mainframe readiness, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the new Bruin Financial Aid system, and a preview of the Student View Emulation feature.

June 2024. Wrapping up a successful academic year, the FACET Program has almost completed the Financial Aid Mainframe (FAM) retrofit and also commenced R1/R2 User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the Bruin Financial Aid system.

May 2024. New Beginnings: with longer days and warmer breezes, May inspires many of us to embrace the outdoors and celebrate nature’s renewal. And here at FACET, we are celebrating new beginnings too.

April 2024. Spring has officially sprung! Alongside the change of season, FACET has entered a fresh, new period of
transformation.

March 2024. Thank you to our Mainframe Team for managing our ISIR data retrofit! In the future, SFP will not require these adjustments, allowing UCLA staff additional time to focus our core goals.

February 2024. The FACET Program will transform financial aid at UCLA by delivering a more intuitive and informative financial aid experience for all Bruins, something we all 💛💙. 

January 2024. This year promises exciting transitions and significant opportunities in the world of financial aid. We look forward to navigating the evolving landscape of financial aid operations together.
